Quick + Easy workouts (under five minutes)

15 Apr

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday. I hope you all are enjoying the week so far!

Today I want to share some of my favorite workout videos from YouTube. These are short, simple workouts under five minutes long. So, there’s no excuse as to why you can’t do them.

Since it’s the last few weeks of the semester, and finals are just around the corner, I don’t have time to go to the gym for a two-hour workout. Sometimes I only have 20 to 30 minutes in the morning to workout. So, I have changed my routine for the last month of school and I still see positive results.

These three videos I have been loving this month. I complete each video twice before moving on to the next one. It’s fun when there’s music involved. And the routines are simple enough to follow while getting a great workout.

The ab video features Karena from Tone it Up! If you love simple workouts that truly give definition to your legs, arms and abs, you will love Karena and Katrina. Subscribe to the YouTube channel for great workout options.

What do you guys do to workout when you have limited time? Leave a comment below with other suggestions I can incorporate in my schedule.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and as always, I will talk to you all soon.

TOP TEN PRODUCTS

Hello everyone and happy Sunday. Today I want to share my top 10 beauty products of all time. Some products I have recently discovered within the last few months, and others I have used for years. Make sure to leave a comment telling me what you top products are of all time! Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Lotion: Stress Relief eucalyptus spearmint by Bath & Body Works. For $13, I think you’re getting your bang for your buck on this product. It’s calming and soothing on the skin, especially if you apply it before bed.

Cleanser: Cetaphil daily facial cleanser. I love how well this removes any dirt and built-up oils on my skin from a long day. I’ve been using this product for about four years and I’m still hooked.

Mascara: Maybelline the rocket mascara. This will be the 6th time I’ve purchased the rocket mascara. I have yet to try a new formula that I found better than this one. It give me a false-lash look without wearing false lashes.

Oil treatment: Garnier Frucits Moroccan oil treatment. I’ve been using this product since last year and I have noticed a change in the ends of my hair. It’s stronger, shiner and healthier because of this product. If you have problems with frizz, I would recommend this oil treatment. And, it’s only $5.

Concealer: Revlon photoready concealer. I always find myself going back to this concealer because other formulas seem to cake on my skin. I love how well this works on acne and under-eye circles. It works perfect on days when you don’t wear foundation or  BB cream.

Perfume: Polo Ralph Lauren #2. My go-to scent all-year long in the #2 from the Big Pony collection. I am obsessed with this perfume regardless of the season. If you love a versatile scent, I recommend this product.

Lip product: EOS lip balms. I have an addiction to these lip balms. I own every flavor and a few duplicates of them, too. I love how soft they leave my lips and they are great additions to gifts!

Hair tool: Hot tools curling iron.  Everyone has that one hair tool they love. For me, it’s my hot tools curling iron. I can achieve effortless waves in less than eight minutes. I love how many ways you can style your hair with this one tool.

Nail Polish: Essie Coral. Coral is my first choice for nail polish, especially in spring and summer. Most days, from March to October, you’ll find this color on my nails. I am in love with the coral options by Essie.

Eyeshadow palette: Naked 3. Everyone and their mother has raved about the new Naked palette. I love how compatible the palette is with my skin tone and eye color. It’s a perfect fit for my taste in eyeshadow and I love the pigmentation of the product as well. Although it’s a little pricey, it’s worth the splurge.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post. Enjoy the rest of your day and as always, I will talk to you all soon.

Spring Fever: intricate fashion and bold purple

12 Apr
Spring

Hello everyone and happy Saturday. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far.

As the weather gets warmer, the more excited I am for spring and summer, especially spring and summer fashion. After months of boots, thick sweaters and excessive layers of clothing, I’m ready for shorts, crop tops and sandals.

Like this post if you’re excited for spring and summer!

Today I want to share some of my favorite trends coming up this season for 2014. Make sure to leave a comment below telling me what your favorite trends are for spring and summer.

April 11 to 13 and April 18 to 20 is Coachella. I was inspired by this art and music festival for my outfit. Leave a comment telling me if you what to go to Coachella someday!

My first favorite is bold, bright purple. I am obsessed with purple all-year long, but I’m loving neon purple nails and accessories. I love this nail polish from Essie’s 2013 neon collection, and the bright purple in the the statement necklace.

I also love detailed tops for spring and summer. The top above is from Forever 21, which you can purchase here for $18. I love how great this will work with shorts or jeans during the summer. A simple, classic top can be transformed from causal to dressy with intricate detailing.

Another detail I love this season is lace and crochet tops, shorts, etc. Lace boomed with popularity last year, but it reappeared for another season. Needless to say, I couldn’t be happier. I love the femininity of lace, especially in white or off-white items. The shorts above are from amazon.com for $19.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. As always, I will talk to you all soon.

Take care of your skin! + tips and more

6 Apr

Hello everyone and happy Sunday!

Today I want to share some easy ways to take care of your skin better. As you all know, your skin is sensitive, so it’s important to take care of it everyday.

First, it’s important to find out your skin type in order to properly take care of your skin. I have combination skin, which means I have some oily and dry areas on my skin. It’s best to find products suitable for your type.

Pillowcases and towels matter! You should wash your towels, sheets and especially pillowcases once a week. Even if you take off your makeup each night and wash your face, you still have impurities on your skin that build up on your sheets throughout the week. Also, clean your phone screen regularly because bacteria builds up on your phone and will cause oil buildup on your skin. If you have acne near your temples or along the sides of your skin, it could be because you don’t clean these items frequently.

It’s also important to make sure you follow your morning skincare routine properly. with toners, serums, and other products, it’s hard to know what to use and when you use it. Here’s the order you should follow each morning.

1. Wash your face with warm water and a mild cleanser that is fit for your skin type.

2. Apply a toner and wait for it to air dry. Toner is for people who have oily skin.

3. Apply any acne medications as necessary, such as Epiduo.

4. Apply eye cream or serum to your skin and wait for it to dry. It will help prevent collagen damage.

5. Apply moisturizer that contains at least 30 SPF to protect your skin from sun damage.

6. Begin makeup routine as normal.

Another tip is to avoid spraying perfume on your face when you’re spraying near your neck. The elements that are in perfume give that smell you love, but can cause irritation to your face. Make sure to spritz cautiously.

A final tip is to be mindful of your hair products. Mousses, oil treatments and other products have agents in them that will clog pores. When applying hair treatments and products, make sure they don’t get on your face and make sure to wash your hands after applying hair products.

I hope you enjoyed today’s tips on how to take care of your skin with some simple tips. If you have any other suggestions, make sure to leave a comment below! Enjoy the rest of your day and I will talk to you soon.

DIY Creation: teeth whitener

3 Apr

StrawberriesHello everyone and happy Wednesday! I hope you are all enjoying the week so far. The first few days of April have been wonderful because of the weather. I’m excited for what else April has to offer.

Today I want to share a simple and inexpensive DIY creation that will help whiten your teeth!

All you’ll need is strawberries and baking soda. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

1. Crush two to three strawberries until it has a pulp-like consistency.

2. Add a teaspoon of baking soda to paste and combine until thoroughly blended.

3. Use toothbrush to apply paste to your teeth and leave it on for five minutes.

4. Remove paste by rinsing with cool water.

For best results, apply this paste once a week.

I hope you all enjoyed this post on how to whiten your teeth with strawberries! Leave a comment below telling me if you have heard of this idea, or have tried it and have had positive results. I’d love to hear from you guys.

Enjoy the rest of your day and as always, I will talk to you all soon.

March Favorites!

30 Mar

photoHello everyone and happy Sunday! I hope you all are well-relaxed and ready to begin a new week tomorrow. Is anyone else in shock that tomorrow is the last day or March and we are moving to April already?

April is one of my favorite months because it’s my birthday month (on April 18th I’ll be 20 years old!) And, it’s the last month of school before I go home for the summer, which is always exciting. Like this post if you’re excited for April!

Today I have a few monthly favorites, including a random non-beauty favorite. Make sure to leave me a comment telling me what your favorites were for March! I’d love to read them all.

Herebal Essences: set me up hairspray: I have been curling my hair a lot this month and I always use this hairspray from Herbal Essences because it smells incredible and holds my curls throughout the day. This is an inexpensive product, which you can purchase here at Target for $3.22.

Velvet Sugar fragrance mist: I have been reaching for this spray throughout March and I have to say that I love the smell. Here is the description of the scent: “Savor every moment as you indulge in this sweetly sumptuous blend of red velvet créme and golden plum laced with a swirl of sugared musk, pink jasmine and wild strawberries. Too much is never enough.” You can purchase this mist here for $14.

Revlon: Photoready concealer: This is a product I always find myself coming back to because it works well for my skin. There have been many days this month that I didn’t feel like wearing a full face of makeup. I would add concealer to the areas of my skin that needed it the most. You can purchase this product here at Target for $6.79. If you love Revlon BB Cream, I would recommend trying this out!

CoverGirl: liquid liner: I have mentioned this in my last favorites post, but this liquid liner is worthy of a second rave. I use liquid liner almost everyday and I find this product very easy to apply. It’s also the liner I learned how to wing out my eyeliner with this product so it’s a keeper for me. You can purchase this item here at Target for $6.99.

Elizabeth Arden: bold eye pencil: I know this has been mentioned in previous posts, but not for the same reason, so I’m going to share my enlightened experience. Before, I would use this only in my inner corner to brighten my makeup after applying eyeshadow. But, I learned that tight-lining my water line and upper lash line gives my eyes the pop they need. Although this product is more expensive, it lasts a long time and the quality is excellent.

Thick Braidies 1/2″ braided headband:This medium brown headband is from Ulta, which you can buy here for $9. It also comes in blonde, so this will work for both hair colors. I normally use this on second-day hair when I don’t wash my hair and it is a life saver. My hair isn’t long enough to create my own braid so I cheat!

Coffee-mate creamy chocolate: I have a huge sweet tooth, but I’ve been trying to eat healthier for the next few months. So, whenever I crave chocolate, I will add this powered cream to my coffee during the day. It’s healthier than buying a caramel cappuccino at Starbucks and it’s very satisfying.

That is it for my monthly favorites and I hope to read some of your favorites from the month. Enjoy the rest of your day and as always, I will talk to you all soon.

Outfit of the Day: Rainy Days

29 Mar

photoHello everyone and happy Saturday. I hope you all had an awesome week and now you’re planning to relax all weekend because you deserve it.

Today I want to share an OOTD post with you guys for my go-to rainy day outfit. Now that we are in full spring mode, except for the snow we are expected to get tomorrow, there are going to be many rainy days for the next month. But, April showers bring May flowers so I guess it’s okay.

Rain Coat: Macy’s: I’ve owned this jacket for only three years, but I wear it non-stop during spring. For any Pretty Little Liars fans out there, I definitely look like -A in this coat, especially when the hood is up. I got this in Rochester when my mamma and I decided to go shopping there. It’s bright pink, so it’s the perfect color for springtime. I can’t wait to start wearing more bright colors. Like this post if you love bright colors!

Jeans: Ann Taylor Loft: I have probably mentioned these jeans in over 20 OOTD posts because I wear these all the time in spring and summer. They feel comfortable, they compliment my shape and they go well with everything. It’s that “old” favorite clothing item you can’t get enough of.

Top: Garage: This top was on sale at Garage last summer for $10 and I couldn’t resist. It’s comfy and although you can’t tell from the picture, this is a top that you can pair with anything. Like matching it with high-waisted shorts or skirts in summer, or layered over with a long-sleeve shirt or cardigan in winter. Needless to say I definitely got my money’s worth on this top.

Umbrella: Everything Elmwood: This umbrella was a gift for my 17th birthday. I love this umbrella because it’s decorated with The Eiffel Tower on it. For those who don’t know, I have a small obsession with Europe and my room at home is Paris themed, so this was the perfect gift for me in high school.

Rain Boots: Shoe Dept: I am obsessed with these rain boots, especially because they match my rain coat perfectly. I always get compliments from people when they see my rainy day outfit because it matches together well. I love polka dots, which steams from my grandma and mamma loving them so much. It’s embedded in my skin that I must love white tops and polka dots.

What’s your go-to rainy day outfit for spring? Make sure to let me know in the comments below. Also, leave a comment telling me what types of OOTD posts you would like to see more of, and how often would you like to see them?

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day and be prepared for my March favorites post tomorrow! Like this post if you’re excited for April!
